Noa is 6 months old today! VIDEO too!

I can't understand where the last month went. One minute I was updating you about her fifth month and now I'm posting about her sixth. Perhaps our constant state of sleep deprivation (Gi is the culprit these days not Noa) or our incessant preparations for our 3-week trip to France coming up next week has something to do with it.

In any case, Noa is a pure joy to watch these days. She is rolling, tumbling machine and now sits perfectly by herself! She has added a few more consonant noises and much to my surprise, she can trill and roll her r's like a super Latina! We mostly hear those rolling r's when she's upset and crying pretty hard but I like where she's headed. Maybe we'll have a trilingual kid with any luck! Now if only I could get her to say Mama except by accident.

On the food front, she has now tried sweet potatoes, applesauce, yogurt, butternut squash (not a favorite of hers yet), and plain old rice cereal. I've saved a pouch of bananas (her first choice food) and some apricot and pears to try on the airplane. And Gianna continues to scarf her baby sister's leftovers and just loves her purees for dessert. I have got to start Noa on green veggies to see if the trend with Gianna continues. Sneaky mom? Absolutely.

Well, come early next week we'll be in France, soaking up the francophone world and hopefully some better spring weather than our still icy, still snowy home in the foothills. This is also a good time to note that I have whittled us down to just one checked bag and one carry on for all four of us so snow is NOT an option for this trip. The parkas and snowsuits will not fit in there! Do you hear that mother nature? It's time for a true spring please!

Now here's a glimpse of our super cute, rolly-polly, 6 month-old!
