January crafting

Our winter bucket list may have been a tad foiled by mother nature not dropping even a fraction of an inch of snow on us so far (although things are starting to look up and we had some sprinkles last night), Gi and Noa and I have been keeping busy with other crafty projects.

We recently made a grass house out of sponges and grass seed and to my amazement, it works! Our grass is a little pekid looking, a pale shade of yellow-green but I hope to liven it up with a little time in the sun outside. And it's great that we can actually grow something during the darkest days of winter. It makes us think ahead to spring and all the planting we'll be doing.

And on the days Gi doesn't have school we rotate between trips to the park, the gymnastics gym and the artist workshop downtown. Here are a couple new shots of the girls practicing their fine arts. This first shot is of Gi showing me her smiling snowman. Too bad we haven't had any snow to actually make one outside!
