Frost damage and baby names, welcome to June!

I fear this is becoming a pregnancy blog not a land and family life blog since all the real news is baby related these days. The very unseasonable winter-like weather lasting into June has kept most of our plans for the property on hold. We did all the planting we have water for back in February with bare root fruit trees. Now the old apple orchard has started to come back and three trees have fruit hanging albeit with half the limbs carrying frost damage from this weather. It's amazing what just a few hundred feet in elevation can do. Over here at our house, we have 8 vines growing beautifully, with full foliage and new sprouts. The vines we've blocked off on the new property, however, are still in hibernation. Their buds are wilting and they haven't grown an inch since we pruned them. The difference between the two places is a mere 400 feet in elevation and the vines on the new property have the advantage of way more sunshine. Our house towers with pines and cedars in all directions, crowding out most of the sunlight between 11 and 4 each day. It looks like if we ever hope to get a vineyard up and running in these mountains we're going to have to figure out some frost prevention strategy. Local vineyards like Lucchesi already have such a contraption that sprays warm water into the air on days when frost is expected to hit. The added moisture increases the temperature around the vines just enough to keep them from freezing.

So I opened with a reference to pregnancy news and I won't disappoint. We're now almost 6 months along and starting to look for a name! Since we read about 800 baby name books the first time around searching for our daughter's name, at least we can save ourselves that painful headache and skip straight to some of our old favorites. As of today, we have a short list of 5 names and we are sure one will be the name we choose in September. But, I have zero motivation right now for narrowing it down any further. Even if I did, I'm not sure I could. They literally are all my favorites!

But I'm always curious to hear of new names that people have heard and liked. So, feel free to leave a comment and let me know your favorites too.
